The Long Bien Bridge is the first steel bridge across the Red River, connecting the districts of Hoan Kiem and Long Bien. It was built by the French (1898 – 1902), firstly named after Paul Doumer, the Indochina Governor. People called it the Cai River Bridge or Bo De Bridge because it crossed the Bo De wharf.
