Report on trade union activities of employees in 2008

1/ SITUATION

To perform tasks in 2008, the union local of VISSAI Cement Company organized practical activities to welcome large festivals in 2008.

Nevertheless, due to serious impacts of floods and complicated financial inflation, policy performance met many difficulties and caused impacts on employees’ life.

2/ ACHIEVEMENTS OBTAINED

Executive board of the Trade Union negotiated and signed collective labor agreement with contents for the benefits of the employees. There were more beneficial points than provisions of the labor code.

The executive board joined together with the authority to build up labor regulations, labor safety regulations, salary and reward regulations, labor rating and disciplinary reward of the enterprise.

The employees signed individual labor contracts with the enterprise’s director. The employees signed labor contracts according to the law. Total employees of the whole company were 992 people signed labor contracts, including 373 contracted employees and the remainders signing training contracts for line 2 and unskilled workers.

Labor safety – industrial sanitation matter is concerned by the trade union executive board and leaders of the enterprise. It established effective safer network and labor protection council.

Working conditions of the employees have been considerably improved and equipped with personal safety clothing. In year, death of industrial accidents occurred.

The Trade Union’s Chairperson has directly joined legitimate right and interest protection activities of the employees and employer.

The Trade Union has coordinated with the enterprise’s director in launching patriotic emulation movement and always taken care of physical and spiritual life of union members and employees, especially shift meals to ensure quantity, quality and sanitation and of housing matters for the employees.

The trade union units have well-organized social activities. The employees have mutually helped in production and well organized funeral and weddings for families meeting physical and spiritual difficulties.

3/ EMPLOYEES PARTICIPATE IN TRADE UNION ACTIVITIES AND BUILD UP TRADE UNION ORGANIZATION

The Trade Union has strictly organized the Party’s guidelines and the State’s legal policies and helped the employees study the Company’s regulations.

The Trade Union has deployed trade union activities to fulfill the set criteria of the first Trade Union Congress.

At present, there are 636/992 union members and 256 employees are apprentices to prepare personnel for production of line 2 who have not been trained and admitted. Among 12 trade union units, 7 units have obtained strongly. 4 excellent union members are introduced to the party cell for consideration and admission.

The Trade Union has trained the members of the union units and teams; appointed members of the trade union units to train trade union operations organized by the Labor Federation of Gia Vien District and notified the superior trade union of information in a full and timely manner.

The Trade Union Executive Board of VISSAI Cement Company would like to briefly report on some activities and acquire opinions and guidelines of the Group’s Union and the Labor Federation of Ninh Binh Province.
