Ninh Binh suffered a painful loss due to Timothy

Facing a weak opponent like Dong Tam in home field, Ninh Binh has unfortunately dropped the victory as Timothy was too individual in ball procession.

In the previous shirt of Dong Thap, Hoa Phat Hanoi or Hanoi Football Club, Timothy Anjembe used to make the team pressing for his individual game play. That’s why even though Timothy had a good scoring record, football teams were not keen on retaining him after each season.

In the afternoon match with Dong Tam on 3 August, Timothy came off the bench after Ninh Binh home team had been unexpectedly suffered the loss after defender Phan Thanh Giang’s header in the 18^th minute. Since being on the court, Timothy played fairly active and helped the home team regain the domination. He himself scored to increase the lead to 2-1 just a minute after the equalizer 1-1 by Sanogo Moussa in the 30^th minute. Then after 41 minutes, Timothy fired a shot that made the opponent’s goal keeper unable to touch the ball to increase the lead to 3 goals to 1

With 2 goals ahead and a good game play, Ninh Binh was supposed to easily win 3 points but the defense’s mistakes as well as Timothy’s greedy shots made them lose the trophy. After Phan Le Isaac scored to make it 2 goals to 3 at the end of the first half, Viet Thang jumped to compete for the ball that made a Ninh Binh defender awkwardly diverts the ball into their own net and made it equalizer 3-3 after 62 minutes.

After the equalizer, Ninh Binh has tightened the team and created a lot of opportunities to pass up. In the situation after 72 minutes, Timothy and Moussa Sanogo faced goalkeeper when the defenders couldn’t support timely. In this ball phase, any player would choose to pass to teammates in favorable position to score into the empty net but Timothy just pinched his lips trying a shot from narrow angle to let the opportunity pass. Repeatedly later, Timothy also handled the ball individually with shots in unfavorable circumstances instead of passing the ball to his teammate so that the attacks from home side ended wastefully.

Timothy’s way of playing made the team unable to keep calm, while Dong Tam from a weaker position known to seize the opportunities to grow and prosper. After 80 minutes, Gilson Campos scored a 4-3 set lead for the visitors Dong Tam from a free kick through the fence.

This was the third consecutive victory of Dong Tam under Coach Ngo Quang Sang and also helped this team gradually dispel the fears of relegation.
