Engineering traffic circulation in Cau Gie- Ninh Binh National highway
On 30-6, at Cao Bo intersection (Y Yen – Nam Dinh), Ministry of Transport of Vietnam held the engineering traffic circulation inaugurating Cau Gie- Ninh Binh National highway
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Tran Dai Quang, the Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, Mr. Dinh La Thang, member of the Standing Committee of the Party, and Minister of Transport of Vietnam, representatives of Ministries, Central sectors; Japanese Embassy; Vietnam Expressway Corporation; leaders of provinces and cities including Hanoi, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Y Yen district (Nam Dinh) and the inhabitants.
Project on Cau Gie – Ninh Binh national highway has the total length of over 50 km with the starting point on National highway No. 1A (Cau Gie – belong to Hanoi City) and the end point on National highway No. 10 (Cao Bo intersection belong to Nam Dinh province). The project is designed according to A-grade national highway standards, maximum designed speed of 100-120 km/h; Phase 1 has 4 lanes, Phase 2 completes the expansion to 6 lanes with 14 bridges all over the route and 9 intersections. The project is commenced in 2006 with total investment of VND 8,974 billion. In the middle of November, 2011, the starting segment (Cau Gie-National highway no. 21) has temporarily been operated with length of 20km to this day forming a 74km highway route from Phap Van (Hanoi) to Cao Bo (Nam Dinh). Circulation speed on this road is regulated at maximum of 100km, time for cars traveling from Hanoi to Ninh Binh and vice versa is just less than 1 hour, 40 minutes shorter than journey on National highway no.1A.
Known that to previously ensure the smooth and safe circulation for vehicles, the People’s Committee of Ninh Binh implemented the traffic divergence method for vehicles to pass Ninh Binh city on the national highway and vice versa.
At the ceremony, the Ministry of Transport awarded certificates of merit to 8 units with excellent performance in the construction of Cau Gie – Ninh Binh National Highway project.
Spoke at the ceremony, the Prime Minister of Transport, Mr. Le Manh Hung requested Vietnam Expressway Corporation to complete items, closely monitoring the settlement of the entire segment and remedies; building and planning project on the expressway development in the following segments. The localities where the highway passed created conditions for the effective operations of the segments, etc. In the authority of the Minister, the Prime Minister formally launched the engineering traffic circulation of Cau Gie – Ninh Binh National Highway and officially brought this segment into operation.
